Re: Will Stage 3 Patches Be Compatible With Stage 4? No!
I cannot see how is that relevant. We are talking about a conversion of an NS3 set of parameters in the organ and piano that could be transferred to the NS4.If the parameter viewer can show what those are, it should be possible to craft a programme that sets the same parameters in the NS4. But maybe we are talking different things.

Yes, would be great to have a piece of software from Nord that creates an empty program on the NS4 and transfers just the compatible settings of a NS3 program into it. That's what I was thinking of already when I moved from the Stage 2 to th Stage 3

Thank you all, very helpful responses! That’s disappointing, but it is more or less the conclusion I was coming to. I could certainly go the manual route to recreate patches but man that was laborious last time. Probably good for me, in a way, but oof it took a long time. Thanks again for the thoughtful responses. Will check out the other new thread as well.

Re: Will Stage 3 Patches Be Compatible With Stage 4? No!
Hello. I am currently trying to migrate NS3 programs to NS4. I use File Viewer for Nord® for this Stage. Synthesizer sounds are difficult to transfer, because the architecture is different. This is understandable. But the sounds of the organ and piano are also not transferred correctly. If I set the same settings, the sound does not turn out to be similar. Since AMP Sim are very different. Apparently AMP Sim are different, although they are called the same. Thus, it is almost impossible to transfer the sound from NS3 to NS4 so that they sound exactly the same. The AMP Sim section is very different. Has anyone already encountered this problem?

The file viewer is a great tool, but with two different instruments, there will always be differences in the sound, even when the settings appear identical. It is best to use file viewer to get "in the ball park" and use your ears to get the sounds as close as possible.Alexandr74 wrote:Hello. I am currently trying to migrate NS3 programs to NS4. Yes, that's what I do. That's just unfortunately I can't transfer some samples that I like to NS4. Since clavia unfortunately did not make a converter from nsmp3 to nsmp4. You can try to sample sounds from NS3 in sample editor, but I don't know how to do itDJKeys wrote:The file viewer is a great tool, but with two different instruments, there will always be differences in the sound, even when the settings appear identical. You will need to record the samples from the NS3 into a software program, leaving some space between each note you sample. Then, export the entire file as .wav. Then it can be loaded into the Sample Editor which will automatically distribute the samples across the keyboard.Alexandr74 wrote:Yes, that's what I do. For what it's worth, the recent update (v 9.18) to Nord Sound Manager allows for conversion of Stage 3 -> Stage 4 program files. Haven't tried it yet, so can't speak to its efficacy. Check out the attached screenshot or visit https://www.nordkeyboards.com/software/ ... d-manager/

Yeah this was announced and has been available at least a year or more. It seems to work relatively ok aside from the differences in the synth architecture. It was released March 2025.
