If knowing the precise sample is so important, why not send the keyboard player a message to ask him? Only thing is that at some point during the concert there is actually a shot that shows that the Grand Piano part is enabled on the Nord.Macsaint777 wrote: 22 Mar 2026, 20:11 Sounds more like an Upright to me. Amber or Pearl I'd say. I don't think it is a Grand, but if it is, It sound like a Yamaha.. Probably Studio Grand 2, or even a slightly less bright Bright Grand.
But I do very much agree and my first thought was that it was the Grand Upright. But I am pretty sure he plays a Grand here.
What piano sample is this?

Re: What piano sample is this?
I am reasonably confident that we are hearing the Royal Grand 3D with a bunch of compression and EQ there - it has the key-off/release and midrange timbre that I've only really heard in that sample (and Yamaha's own S6 sample, which is the same acoustic piano model as what Nord sampled for the Royal). The low end is wrong for the Grand Upright, which would have been a fair guess otherwise. The Royal always sounds like it occupies a space between a large grand and an upright, which is part of what I love about it (and Yamaha's equivalent).

The precise sample is not that important, but I am curious and would enjoy to figure it out. But I would love to get a sound like that. Just dont know how to get that.
It would be a perfect fit for a tour I’m doing in a few weeks with a band that has a bit of the same vibe.
