Switching programs using a midi foot controller.

Does anyone use foot MIDI controllers for switching programs? Please share your experiences. I don't have any experience with this, but I think freeing my hands from switching programs would be ideal, since I have to play parts end-to-end. I've found one (Hotone Ampero Control). I have a ne6d.
