Still No AI in This Forum ?
Artificial intelligence has long become an integral part of everyday life. In an increasing number of areas, it is no longer merely supportive but, in some cases, almost indispensable. This development is particularly evident in the music industry: AI systems are now capable of composing, producing, and arranging complete songs—sometimes so successfully that these productions even reach the music charts. In recording studios, algorithmic systems are increasingly taking over tasks that were once reserved for musicians and producers.
Technological progress has reached a level of quality that, in certain areas, can rival—and occasionally surpass—human performance. Against this backdrop, the question arises as to why AI is not being more widely integrated into online forums as well.
In digital discussion spaces, artificial intelligence could serve as a valuable addition. Moderators could be relieved of repetitive tasks by allowing frequently asked questions to be answered automatically. At the same time, users could benefit: AI systems operate efficiently, respond instantly, and remain factual and patient even when questions are asked repeatedly. Instead of being redirected to instruction manuals, users could receive structured and clearly formulated answers immediately.
Moreover, there are already specialized platforms on the internet where AI models exclusively interact with one another and exchange information. Some of these formats report significant usage figures, illustrating how normalized AI-based communication has already become.
The debate over whether—and to what extent—artificial intelligence should be integrated into traditional forums is therefore likely to gain further importance. One thing is clear: technological progress continues unabated, and with it comes the question of how digital communities will be shaped in the future.

Re: Still No AI in This Forum ?
For me, AI may be freely discussed as a topic in this forum (how do you use it, what are advantages/risks, what is the it's impact on music an music industry? etc.). But in a form (like this) I expect to interact with humans, not AI. Which, by the way, to me very often does not seem intelligent at all, or reasonable. It ads no benefit, to blow up trafic in a froum by automated interaction. I had AI argue with me too many times already. If, at all, I might accept AI as a supporting assistant to the forum, or helping to browse FAQ...

Re: Still No AI in This Forum ?
I don't see a need for AI in a forum: if I want to ask AI I can go to AI and also request to respond based on the contents of a specific site or manual (but watch out for hallucinations, we have already seen cases of AI saying you could use a Triple Pedal on a Nord Electro...)
Otoh if I want to interact with other (human) people I use a forum, were people may also share AI responses that they deem valid (which has an added value compared to just-AI).
PS: I think this discussion should be moved to this section viewforum.php?f=22
PS2: personally AI is not yet an integral part of my everyday life, call me old fashioned but that's how it is and so far I don't feel this is limiting my life in any sensible way.

Re: Still No AI in This Forum ?
Yeah, good question (and bit off topic so as maxpiano suggested moved to the corresponding forum).
There is AI in the sense that we see more and more posts from newly registered "users" that are written as legitimate, but only at third sight do they become clear as AI bla bla bla with some subtle spam or so links.
For instance, the recent launch of https://www.moltbook.com/ shows clearly how discussions in the future can more and more become automated or outsourced to AI agents.
Let's see how this fast-evolving lansdcape develops, for the time being I like the idea of being certain that at the other end of a thread, discussion or topic sits another human being rather than (whatever to call it).
Just my 0.02$
Cheers
Johannes

The human interaction here is the absolute foundation of this (or any other) forum’s value.
AI can stay away. No thanks.

Re: Still No AI in This Forum ?
I don't see any advantage in integrating AI into a forum that is intended as a platform for human interaction. In my opinion, this would not only lead to an undesirable shift towards automation and machine-controlled activities, in which humans ultimately only play a secondary role, but the error rate of AI is also over 50% or sometimes even higher, and I don't want incorrect or even fake information to be spread here – that's just my personal opinion.

Re: Still No AI in This Forum ?
This is the silliest thing I have read all day. If answers were generated by AI, there wouldn’t be snarky answers like the one I am writing. I just spent another soulless day as a programmer interacting with AI to produce software more quickly and “better” (or something). I don’t want more of that after my work day is done. There would be no point in a forum like this if it was just AI responses and moderation. If you want AI responses, just ask ChatGPT or something similar; it has already ingested the entirety of this forum. And, it would tell you that your suggestion is brilliant unlike the actual people who are respondingWolfgang T wrote: 24 Feb 2026, 10:24 In digital discussion spaces, artificial intelligence could serve as a valuable addition.
