RHII and III would be too heavy for this travel weight. That series is the foundation for what they use in the Nord Grand. The lower cost lighter weight Kawai models may not be triple sensor, but that does not necessarily mean they could not produce triple sensor versions of them for Nord.StarF666 wrote: 22 Jan 2026, 19:01 Kawai's Responsive Hammer Lite (RHL) and kawai Responsive Hammer Compact (RHC) are both not triple sensor as far as I know. So maybe it's a Responsive Hammer II/III ore derived thereof?

The ES-920 weights in at 17kg with speakers and 88 keys. I wouldn't rule it out but I guess you're probably right with the RHC with a triple sensor configuration. We will see. I hope there will be some reports from NAMM.

New video with some talk about the HP keybed. He references the Grand 2 explicitly. Edit: After watching and some reading I think it's probably RHC. But it's all speculation.
...and another one. HF watching.

Re: New! Nord Electro 7!
Well, I'm thinking this time the first thing I will do is back it up and wipe it all out to replace with just the stuff I want. So I'm not concerned with what's in A11 because it will be my own after 10 minutes.

The synth is deeper than I had originally thought. That new color screen is the key to that. Interesting approach.StarF666 wrote: 23 Jan 2026, 17:28

Some people have alluded that those non pitch stick/mod wheel NAMM prototypes will be collectors items. Personally not so interested in owning a collector's item and I'm willing to wait until the fully fleshed out version ships. He said something about it being several months before production models ship.
Even though they can't pin down which Kawai action, it seems to be getting some initial positive feedback, and not just from Jacob Dupre.
