Nord announces Electro 7 pitch bend stick and mod wheel for 73 and 73HP
Just saw the announcement on the site today. Looks like they have been closely watching the public response of the E7 announcement and will be adding the pitch stick and mod wheel to the 73 key and 73HP models only. Looks like the 61 will remain as originally designed.

Re: New! Nord Electro 7!
I agree. They had a plan for this, but wanted to test first the feedback without. Now let’s hope that they have a memory increase waiting in their sleeve, too! Then I would be ready to order an upgrade for my good old NE5.Kentener wrote: 20 Jan 2026, 21:02 Well, I really believe that this was planned from the outset. You don't do something like this just a few days after announcing a new model. Very strange...

Re: New! Nord Electro 7!
So much for the argument that "Nord doesn't listen".
I thought the Electro 7 was competitive without PB/MW. Now I see it as even MORE competitive in its category.
Looking forward to understand what can and cannot be modulated, e.g. Leslie speed as a morph on the NS4?

I think I have gear issues ....

Re: New! Nord Electro 7!
Three things:
1 - I sincerely hope this doesn't increase the price tag!
2 - "Pitch stick calibration error" anyone?
3 - You might get the feeling that I would have been perfectly fine without this, and you are right.

But the Minimoog is a great comparison. It's expensive - overpriced, some might say. It's got cache. Its design and capabilities haven't been updated in 50 years, even the newer iterations.
- a dedicated LFO w/ triangle and square waveforms
- velocity & aftertouch
- switchable lowest-/highest-/last-note priority (original only had lowest-note)
- MIDI
- mixer feedback loop (a standard routing, achievable on the original with a short patch cable)
- spring-loaded pitch wheel.
Wanna reconsider?

Prices haven't changed on the online sites and they are taking pre-orders, so looks like no increase. Which is a little surprising - seems like some additional engineering and parts would be required.

Re: Nord announces Electro 7 pitch bend stick and mod wheel for 73 and 73HP
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a company do such a thing right after a big product announcement. That’s pretty incredible.

Re: New! Nord Electro 7!
Most certainly planned all along. Still an interesting move either way, both in that they are including it, and how they announced it.
