Recently bought a used Nord Piano 1 in great condition, but the keyboards notes are “split”. The keys left of center C are normal and sensitive while the ones on the right are all full volume regardless of press intensity.
Is there a way to fix this? It didn’t seem like a contact issue to me since it’s right down the middle, seems intentional. I tried the usb software but I’m thinking I might have to try it again with a midi cable.

I'm sorry to hear you have this problem.
This seems like a hardware issue (to me).
In the best case, a cable from the keybed to the motherboard came loose and disconnected the velocity detection sensors for half the board - This is a guess - I don't know how the NP1 wires its keybed. Re-seating that connector would restore function.
Worst case, one of the sensor IC (Integrated Circuits) failed so the velocity sensing no longer functions. This requires electronics diagnosis/repair.
I don't recall a case where half the keybed failed like this. Can you check if only 8 keys are affected? --Nord arranges key sense in banks of 8 (so key failures usually occur in groups of 8 That is, please check all the way up keyboard pressing all keys to see which ones exhibit this behaviour.

Thank you for responding! I'm not home at the moment but it's definitely the top half of the keys, all of them including center c and above. Even the gentlest of touches triggers full volume.
I'll have to look into the velocity detection sensors, and possibly reaching out to someone who knows more about repairs. I also tried connecting to the Sound Manager through USB but that didn't offer many solutions. I'll try MIDI cable w/ Sound Manager too to see if it offers more functions...
This type of defect has nothing to do with MIDI or NSM, as pterm suggested you should open it and check that the ribbon cables connecting the keyboard to the mainboard are well plugged, first of all.

Thanks for the reply. I think you both are right. I just got home and realized that the top 8 keys do in fact work correctly, rather than just the bottom half of the keyboard. So it’s definitely in 8 key chunks (24 total).
Im gonna look into the ribbon issue, and hopefully that will resolve it. Fingers crossed.
