Again, Clavia is very keen on not distributing different Panels (I promised never to sell my pre G2X), only the NordLead, NordLead2 and NordLead2X are different. Mostly a black Store button indicates it is a pre-production model, with the exception of the NordModular Classic, in which the pre-production instruments all have a red Store button, where the production ones have a black one.

Re: NL3 different panel printing versions?
Hey guys.
So there have been news since then. I found a Nord Lead 3 whose front panel states "1.6" and whose back panel states to be in the same version. The front panel has the "Global" label near the Octave buttons. It also have the "Ins", "Del" and "Sort Mode" labels near the navigation arrows buttons. Nice.
However I have some problems with it, which I will deal with in a more apropriate topic.

Re: NL3 different panel printing versions?
Super old thread I’m spelunking, but this last image is from 2001 Frankfurt Muzikmesse and is what Sonicstate posted to their website then of a “big pic” of the amazing new NL3. So it’s definitely an early prototype, it wasn’t shipping then.stiiiiiiive wrote: ↑29 Dec 2012, 15:55 And this last one does not have them, plus it has black buttons for "Shift" and "Store", instead of the grey and red ones:
Plus the painting is different next to the pitch stick.
Also, the unison control doesn’t mention stack, as that function didn’t exist yet.

Re: NL3 different panel printing versions?
This is interesting! So how many versions of the lead 3 are available that we know of? Mine has the 1.6 mark on the front which as I understand is the most common one. Do we have a timeline for the different versions?
This is the dark age of love.

Re: NL3 different panel printing versions?
Well this is a surprise… my NL3 arrived today from Japan, and it’s an early one!
It has no INS / DEL / SORT MODE labels, it’s not no Vx.x version number on the front panel or the back. It’s got PROM V 0.14, the test program is only in V 0.20 and later. Hopefully this can be updated with software? It’s on V1.08 currently.
Stickers inside show 01–09-20… 20th September 2001? Really? Serial is under 1000.
