M Audio expression pedal with my new Electro set up help please
Spending my first hour with a new Electro 6d 61
Sus pedal works.
At the moment I am using a M Audio expression pedal. Can't seem to get this working as a swell.
It's plugged into the Control Input. In the settings there is no M Audio pedal in the list, so currently I am using the default Roland EV7 setting. I am told that an M Audio pedal can work. I also tried thbe other pedal manufacturer names.
I can see activity in the pedal menu in terms of percentages, e.g. 45% or 78% etc. Which leads me to believe the pedal is working. It's polarity is also set to "other" (choices are either "M Audio" or Other). I tried both
Stil no variation in sound when playing an organ patch?
Can't find much in the manual. Is there something I am doing wrong? Is this a simple newbie mistake?
Thank you all.

You need to enable the CtrlPed on the Section(s) you want to control with it (for Organ, see NE6 manual, page 10...)

Re: M Audio expression pedal with my new Electro set up help please
Thank you Max,
You have helped me lots. (I know I can be tech dense!)
I presume you mean the instruction on pg 10 "CTRLPED (Shift + Octave Shift Up) assigns an attached control pedal as
volume control for the Organ section."
This broughts up a message "Pedal None". So, I selected "Pedal Control", still no difference in the sound for the organ. I tried all the supported manufacturers in the system menu. No luck. Once again I do see percentages in the system menu - so something is going in.
Maybe it does not support MAudio?
I am mystified

I had it set midway, so there should have been some volume difference? I shall try tomorrow

Re: M Audio expression pedal with my new Electro set up help please
Max et al:
Thank you. I have solved the issue - newbie mistake.
Some may know I come from a Stage 4 to Electro. On the stage for the organ does not have to choose between sus OR control pedal (why?). When I discovered this button, buried in the organ, and set it to CTRPED . Swell worked.
Also, (for future newbies) this matter of additionally hitting shift and octave up seemed not to stick here, I often found that when rechecked it said "no pedal", instead of CTRPED, I will keep an eye on this. Only when both are set correctly will the pedals worked.
Don't yet understand why one needs to choose between sus and swell in the organ section? My set up on the Stage 4 is currently two pedals an FC7 and a Sus pedal. For the Hammond sounds (and I don't layer piano with Hammond), the sus pedal switches the Leslie from slow to fast.
Currently this is not happening on my Electro. I know it's more limited, is this possible?
I can confirm that the MAudio swell pedal works well and is also pretty light weight - which is my purpose. Love the board overall, it's excellent for subbing my Stage 4 when I don't fancy the weight, rehearsals. I did try a Yamaha CK 61, in a rehearsal it sounded toyish.
So very pleased with the Electro.

Re: M Audio expression pedal with my new Electro set up help please
Because NS has a dedicated Swell Pedal input and Swell function is preassigned to Organ (while CtrlPed can be freely used for Morphing), while NE has only 1 CtrlPed input for all uses and no Morphing support
