NS4 headphones routing

Post by the_steff »

Hi !

Phone out is routed from "out 1 & 2" but not "out 3 & 4". In my case, it is a problem. Coud it be possible to add a feature allowing to have all out signals (1+2+3+4) routed to phone out ?

Thanks !

Hi, nope, the routing is likely defined at hardware level, so you get it the way it is; an external (small) mixer is the way to go if you need a 1+2+3+4 mix to your headphones (for example to send the 3+4 back to the NS Monitor IN. EDIT: not on NS3/4, in general it is better to plug the headphones directly to the mixer)

Depending on which Stage model we're talking about, sending 3+4 back to the NS Monitor In may result in also sending 3+4 to 1+2, which we don't want. So the phones would have to be plugged into the mixer.

you are right anotherscott, I forgot that on NS3/4 this is how it is implemented (so not an option in those cases).

But... question to OP is: why do you route some sounds to 3/4 and then you want all of them mixed back to NS own Headphones? I expect that if you send some Section to 3/4 it is to process it differently than the 1+2 outside of the NS and this would be lost if an internal 1+2+3+4 headphone mix existed.

If you use a small digital mixer like the Behringer Flow-8, you easily get a main mix and a separate monitor mix.
Stage-3-C (Rev.B 2.1) - Kawai VPC1 / Viscount Legend 70s / Yamaha CP33 - Hall of Fame & NeoVent2 - Behringer Flow-8 - K&M stands 18820+18811 / 18953+18952 - Samsung Tab S5e, MobileSheetsPro & AirTurn Duo200 - QSC K8.2s / Fischer InEars
