Best App to write piano notes for a piano solo.
Hi Guys,
I have to write down a nice piano solo from a live version of “Get into the Groove” from Madonna that we play and I just figured that nowadays, instead of doing it the old ways, I could ask any new AI App to do it for me so, is there a special one that I should consider first?
Let me know
Sincerely

I’m not aware of any AI tool for musicians specifically. I would try ChatGPT first, upload a recording and ask them to transcribe it - would be interesting to see the result. Here is what they say:

Well, thanks a lot for the try, ut you are right, Starting with it, and the midi file should help me to refine it nd then, learn it, sorry for the question, I have never used any AI help for now, well, just the one they provide for free on an iPad but not with a very specific question like that.

I would be very interested if that has ever worked sufficiently using AI. If so, could you please post your good examples?
My attempts, so far, have produced very poor results.
Cheers

If you seperate the instruments into there own stems it may be able to work more acurately.
The site fadr.com allows you to upload a song in mp3 or wav and then seperate the stems, you can download the finished stems in either mp3 or (payed for)wav.
if you then ask Ai to transcribe as above, from only the piano track it might be good enough.

Re: Best App to write piano notes for a piano solo.
Hi! Which live version are you listening to?
I find the best way to transcribe is to slow the track down (either using youtube or with a specific transcription app) and just write it out.
But the most of the live solos from Into the Groove are almost entirely blues scale... some with a couple of nice phrases, some more basic. I think you can approximate (or even do better!) without too much trouble...
The japan90 solo is one that the bulk of it is based on the blues scale, but the keyboard player also does a little descending chromatic interval thing (once at the start and then exactly the same again near the end), one chromatic scale down, and one other 3 note chromatic phrase... there isn't a lot there outside of the blues scale and a couple of chromatics.
Who's that girl tour - just blues scale.
Live at Stadio Comunale, Italy, '87 - carries on into the bridge and then for another 4 or 5 verses (!!)... it's good but still 95% blue licks.
Have fun.
