I recently cleaned the contact strips on my Piano 3 as I was having velocity issues with a couple of notes.
I just opened the whole thing up and followed a video somebody made on cleaning the strips and board they attach to with isopropyl aclohol.
When I was in there I noticed at the base of one of the 3 protruding nodes that come off the strips at each contact point there was a small tear that was barely apparent - the overall structure of the node seemed to be unaffected.
When I was in there I managed to clumsily sever a ribbon cable which I now have on order.
My question is: should I replace the contact strip with the small tear or will it be fine? I read on another forum that these things function by sort of trapping air which would make me think maybe that was my original problem and it's time to just order new ones. Other than that they looked fine and I gave them a good cleaning.
Thanks in advance.
