You said the instrument was on stage for 3 days. If it was left uncovered there is a good possibility that in the evening when the temperatures dropped you hit the dew point and accumulated moisture inside the case.

That would be the most likely failure mode given the information you have described.

Well - how did your story proceed? Did you find the reason? Could you do the Gigs without failures?

Not sure if you resolved your problem.

I recently repaired my NS2 which was not booting. The issue was related to the main volume and rotary speaker drive pots. If they were on their maximum setting the NS2 booted up fine If not no boot. Also, if it had successfully booted and I moved one of the pots the control panel would stop working, but the keyboard would continue to work. A bit like your scenario.

I changed the pots and the ADC (analogue to digital converter chip) on control panel 1. This fixed my problem. I had a string of other problems, the previous owner had abused the board.

Don't attempt the repair unless you know how to repair pcbs. I'm a former electronics engineer, so I know what I'm doing.

Interesting !
I know these are entirely different machines but, I was having the same failure with my Hammond XK-3C during outdoor gigs in the heat/sunshine. It was on but locked and unresponsive to any commands. Even a hard boot (off and back on) did not rectify the problem. It returned to a functioning condition only after it cooled down. This forced me to quickly improvise on my other keyboards on stage and made for some uncomfortable moments. This situation did not arise during indoor, climate controlled performances.
As a temporary fix, I kept the keyboard covered in a white sheet and set several frozen blue ice packs on the chassis prior to each set.
That was last year.
Before our outdoor shows started this year I took the keyboard to my technician and he went through the power supply looking for any cold solder joints. He resoldered and beefed up several different connections and so far it has stayed functioning throughout the shows.
Next weekend will be the real test as we are playing an outdoor show and temps are forecast to be in the upper 90's. Fingers crossed !!!!
There are a lot of connections to consider. Good luck with your problem.

This situation is really unpleasant... Well - once your music business starts getting satisfying, a second set / rig of keys (no matter what brand or model) that´s waiting in back and is allready programmed to do the job of the Nord, is mandatory... The best would be a second NORD, but well...
