Switching off layers
Hi all, new to the forum and Nord keyboards in general. I've just bought a Grand mark one, and I wondering if there's a way to disable the layering capability? It's not something I'm ever going to use, and it just clutters up the display screen. Thanks!

Re: Switching off layers
Hello and welcome to NUF.
You cannot disable the layering capability in general, but you can create/modify programs so that they do not use any layering in them.

Re: Switching off layers
Any program will contain a piano sample and a synth sample - if in use or not. That way, you are always ready to mix in a second sound - that's what you may want on stages.
The only use case that I see where you'll never need a second layer is maybe classical music. Most other music styles will benefit from the mixing capabilities - there are also piano sounds for the synth engine to create a layered acoustic and digital piano (Elton John et al.) for example. I love mixes of Rhodes Electric Piano + Yamaha CP70 or acoustic piano + Yamaha DX7.
