Growling saxophone sample
Does anyone have a typical "growling" saxophone (alt or tenor) sample ? The standard nord sax samples are too "soft" especially in the higher notes. I tried to adjust the standard alto-saxophone sample adding a bit of rough edge with the LFO to maximum rate controlling the osc pitch, but that also adds a annoying resonance frequency, try to cover that up with a lot of reverb and an amp-sim (small) with a little bit overdrive, but then you're loosing the beautiful lower notes sound of the original sample, so I made split to let the 2 versions blend over. Anyways, it' s still not what I'm looking for. I played sax myself and know you can never really get that growling sound right but I'm sure it can be made better than what is available now. Maybe someone knows how to add an analog sound (as a layer) to the original sample but I tried that myself without any success. Just to mention an example, I'm trying to play the sax solo from "something got me started" from simply red. Thanks in advance for your help.
