Re: [REQ] No Doubt Hella Good
I performed at a job last night where we played this song and had a chance to run it during soundcheck. The soundman said the low synth pulse keyboard part was getting lost in the mix, so I boosted hi-mid frequencies with the EQ to help give it more bite and added a chorus for more stereo width. He said that helped that sound cut through better. I wasn't able to play the high part, not sure how I'm going to pull that off...

Just get the left hand going on the "and" and have your right hand play on the downbeat. Takes a little practice, but you can do it.gsbe_com wrote: ↑09 Mar 2025, 22:39 I performed at a job last night where we played this song and had a chance to run it during soundcheck. Re: [REQ] No Doubt Hella Good
Thanks. I’ve got that low pulse rhythmic synth line happening. It is attempting to add the high melodies at the same time that is so challenging. I was thinking about stopping the low pulse synth in all the “breaks” when the high beeps synth lines are more prominent. </braindump>DJKeys wrote: ↑09 Mar 2025, 23:57Just get the left hand going on the "and" and have your right hand play on the downbeat.
