Nord Sustain Pedal 1 vs Nord Sustain Pedal 2
Hey everyone, I have a question. So I have the Nord Sustain Pedal Version 1, but I've never owned or used the Nord Sustain Pedal Version 2. I know that Version 2 has the pedal noise function, but other than that, is it better in terms of usability and functionality? Does it feel better under your foot? Does it feel more like a grand piano sustain pedal in terms of realism?

Warning: Nord Sustain Pedal 2 can only work with NS4 and NG2, if you have any other model it won't work.

I had the 1, then bought the 2. The 2 is slightly nicer, heavier etc, and is continuous and supports pedal noise.
But honestly I don't think it was worth the money!
I bought the non-Nord one, I forgot what it is but it's the OEM pedal that Nord rebrand.

Re: Nord Sustain Pedal 1 vs Nord Sustain Pedal 2
... got the Roland DP-10 (actually 3 of them in my inventory) - for over 20 years -
on my NE573 and meanwhile on the NordStage4
and I´m very happy with it´s feel and flexibility.
I have a Sustain Pedal 1 too, but use it on a Yamaha Piano (which offers no half-pedal-function)
I won´t even try the Nord Sustain 2, since my Roland makes me happy already...
The Sustain Pedal 1 seems to come from Fatar (i got the same with the CrumarSeven).
It is simply, but reliable and does its job with a good feel also - but no half-pedal...
Does anybody know, who´s the producer uf the Nord Sustain 2 Pedal? Fatar also?

See my previous post
PS: just to avoid someone else's confusion, when you use the DP-10 with NE5 you use it in Switch mode, so no half pedal also in that case (also because NE5 does not support half pedaling and pedal noise at all) and also on NS4 I think it won't work in Continuous mode, at least not without some rewiring/adapter.

One thing I read about SP2 is it can be used as a morph source...anyone aware of in what way and does that give you an additional expression pedal of sorts?

Re: Nord Sustain Pedal 1 vs Nord Sustain Pedal 2
What you can or cannot do with SP2 is defined by the keyboard you connect it to, not by the pedal; since currently NSP2 only works with NS4 and NG2, the NS4 or NG2 User Manual is your friend in this case to see what it can do (basically just acting as a Continuous sustain pedal, like the right pedal of NTP1 and NTP2, i.e. enabling Half Pedaling and Pedal Noise triggering on Piano Section)

Re: Nord Sustain Pedal 1 vs Nord Sustain Pedal 2
Don't think so, cos it will never stay on the value you left it on
For others who might be curious about the Nord Single Pedal 2... nord states, that the new pedal noise and half pedaling functions only work with the SP2. This is not true, it also worked with my old Yamaha FC-3 pedal. The difference was the activation range, on the Yami it gave you full sustain if really pressed to the bottom, on the SP2 the active range was much higher, more natural, really enjoyable playing the pianos with it.
I also like the added rubber band wich you can attach (I know a few nord users who wished for one). But the SP1(fatar) wich came with my NS4 also has a rubber band these days.
