Running a nord from a power station
Hi, I'm thinking of purchasing a powerbank to power my nord while busking - Something like this https://www.hampshiregenerators.co.uk/p ... r-station/ . I have read elsewhere on the forum that without a pure sine-wave converter I might run the risk of bricking my keyboard. Can anyone offer some advice please?

Give the company a call and ask them. It will be an expensive test if you brick your instrument.

Re: Running a nord from a power station
Goes to show you can't believe everything you read on internet forums.
I run a variety of Nords powered by a variety of battery packs. None claim to offer "pure sine wave power". Zero issues in my experience, nor have I ever heard of any. Having somewhat of an EE background, I would expect zero problems as well.
The concern comes from older AC-native power designs from the last century. These days, there's usually an internal power supply that converts whatever AC to clean DC power for internal usage. I would have zero concerns. Also, there have been zero reports of problems across decades of experience, as people such as me do this all the time.
If it helps, I've run my Nords on some seriously crappy power sources and it's been OK. The bassist's vintage tube amp, not so much.
Have fun!

Re: Running a nord from a power station
If I remember correctly, some years back, one of the forum users had a Nord in a van connected to an inverter that made the fuses blow repeatedly (annoying but not the same as "bricking" the instrument). But the OP is asking about a different setup and I doubt many people here tested that particular piece of equipment. That is why giving the company a call and ask them would be more enlightening.
In any case have a few spare fuses at hand!
