Hi all, and pardon this generic question. I've searched but haven't found an answer, which could be I'm not phrasing teh question correctly.
For starters, I'm the guitarist in the band and trying to find an answer for our keyboard player ... he's got an Electro 6D. We're wondering if he can use the keyboard, more precisely one key, to trigger a saved audio sample. For example, if we want teh jet engine for Back In The USSR, or the thunderstorm in Riders On The Storm, or the slide guitar sound in Rocket Man ... can we capture that as an audio clip (wav, mp3, etc.), save it on the Nord and then trigger it with a key (perhaps either the highest or lowest key on the Nord)?
I've reviewed the manual, and it seems perhaps that treating the clip as a "program" may be the way, but I thought I'd ask folks who actually play this instrument.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Specific audio patch trigger in Electro 6d
The Nord Electro is not the typical instrument for jobs like that. There's no sequencer, no audio treatment and only 1 organ engine, 1 piano engine and 1 sample engine.
Nord allows users to create their own custom samples (for the sample engine). Older versions of the Nord Sample Editor allowed to import longer parts, the new versions limit samples to 30 seconds IIRC. Some users blended different samples for different parts of the keyboard to 'multi-samples'. It may be a little laborious, though.

This isn't as hard as it might seem, presuming you're ok with the keyboard player giving up his sample engine for sound FX on a few songs. He could split the keyboard and load these samples to a portion of the board assigned to play the sample, while still being able to play organ and piano stuff on the other part of the split.
Someone has done some of the work for you. In this thread, you'll find Riders on the Storm already sampled in .nsmp for Nord and ready to load.

This thread has Back in the USSR jet sounds and more.
You can search the forum for lots of other things and also peruse the sounds forum here. Chances are if it's on your mind, someone else may have given you a running start.

Wow - thanks very, very much. Our keyboardist is using the stock sounds, so there shoudn't be any issue losing the sample engine for our purposes. thanks a ton for the links ... this will also give us the roadmap for other items.ericL wrote: ↑31 May 2024, 19:26 This isn't as hard as it might seem, presuming you're ok with the keyboard player giving up his sample engine for sound FX on a few songs.
