Re: Nord Stage 4 - Glide Rate Range (Bug?)
Thanks for your patches!
I've just loaded them into my NS4 Compact - and both work fine here.
I'll try to noodle a bit around with settings and parameters in order to provoke an error.
My instrument: NS4 Compact, OS v1.14, HW Rev 0.9-26 Revision B
Perhaps someone with a NS4 HA model (and also with another HW Rev) could also check the program? Really strange issue.

Re: Nord Stage 4 - Glide Rate Range (Bug?)
Saturday's gig went well (firmware 1.06).
Now that we're off until NYE, I've flashed back to v1.14
Appreciate all the help trying to track this down.

Re: Nord Stage 4 - Glide Rate Range (Bug?)
Flashed to firmware 1.20
The Portamento bug appears to have been fixed.
It's been about 5 days... and thus far... no issues with Portamento on Synth Engine 1.
Works as expected...

Spoke too soon!
Go to try the patches just now... and Portamento is once again broken on Synth Engine 1.
Got a gig Saturday... so it's back to v1.06

I still have your two patches in my NS4 and I've "checked" them regularly. They always worked as they should.

Re: Nord Stage 4 - Glide Rate Range (Bug?)
I can only imagine that there is some sort of defect with your unit. This doesn't make any sense otherwise since the bug is only reproduceable on one machine so far.

Re: Nord Stage 4 - Glide Rate Range (Bug?)
There is no hardware defect that would affect glide/portamento as that functionality is 100% controlled by software/firmware (aside from the switch turning it on and off and the knob controlling rate).tsss27 wrote:I can only imagine that there is some sort of defect with your unit. Since there are only one knob and one switch for all layers that can be ruled out as a cause.

Re: Nord Stage 4 - Glide Rate Range (Bug?)
That's what I would assume, but no one else seems to be able to reproduce it.

Re: Nord Stage 4 - Glide Rate Range (Bug?)
Based on the NS3 mainboard layout which appears to have separate DSPs for each synth there is a remote possibility that there is some kind of issue with one of the DSP chips, but I would expect that to effect a lot more than just the portamento.tsss27 wrote:That's what I would assume, but no one else seems to be able to reproduce it.
