Triple Pedal Problems
I think the pads on my triple pedal are shot..
what's the fix to make the continuity work? I am pressing the pedal down but am not getting any functionality out of the middle pedal or left pedal...
the sustain and pedal noise (right pedal) work just fine
I used a bit of contact cleaner on the board (but it made no difference.)

Re: Triple Pedal Problems
Have you checked the cable with a multimeter?

Re: Triple Pedal Problems
If you cleaned the rubber contacts and associated "carbon" contacts on the board, I hope you used isopropyl alcohol and not standard contact cleaner (which is for metal contacts and can damage the "carbon" ones).
Anyway first of all, as suggested by Mr_-G-, check also the continuity of the cable (soldered cables to each corresponding TRS jack terminal) with a multimeter.
You may also take a look at this discussion, about modification of NTP to replace the cable with a stereo jack plug mounted on the pedal itself (so you can easily replace the cable when defective) accessories-and-amplification-f8/triple ... 14664.html

Re: Triple Pedal Problems
Hi Carl, welcome to the forum!
I assume that you used the pedal before on your Nord Piano and it did work, is that correct?
If so maybe a dumb question but did you check the settings of the Pedal Menu to make sure it's still set to "Nord Piano" or "Triple" (depending on the Nord Piano model you use) instead of Open or Close?

Re: Triple Pedal Problems
I had the same problem, it was solved by removing the connector that goes to your grand, I had a loose cable, it seems that the solder came loose.

Re: Triple Pedal Problems
Thanks for your reply!
I did a continuity test with the line, everything is showing continuity...
I also have Triple Pedal selected in the main menu.
I also did a OS refresh, (v. 1.50) to see what happened...
Yes I used typical 'CONTACT CLEANER'
Which I heard can damage the carbon contacts?
I didn't know this at the time however...
I have these little 'carbon circles' that people cell on ebay to correct this same issue with cordless phones
something like this....it sticks on with a little adhesive and it's thinner
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/262221463416?ha ... SwLN5WiE~U
The idea is..
The film strip sticks overtop of the carbon print on the circuit board
the film is impregnated with carbon, so that when the little rubber contact boot on the piano pedal gets squished by the lever when you press it down with your foot
the contact boot touches the membrane which then flexes and makes the connection with the circuit board..
but this didn't work either...
Is my only solution a new PCB?
here is the model number on the board.. I'm not sure where I can get one of these.....
I contacted NORD via email they didn't even respond so..
and a new triple pedal is like.. $500.. so.. that's out of the question.

Re: Triple Pedal Problems
Have you tried cleaning the silicone contacts with isopropyl alcohol?
Or swapping the contacts from the pedal that works to ones that do not work? I that fixes it, then it is the worn rubber contacts, rather than the board.

Re: Triple Pedal Problems
Hi, did you contact the local distributor for Nord in Canada, which is Erikson Music in Quebec? They are the point of contact for service questions and issues, not Nord directly.Carl393 wrote:OH BTW I try emailing tech support and the contact forum doesn't work.. it just hangs at the recatpcha...

no phone number either.
You will find the list of distributors including homepage links and phone numbers here: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/distributors

Re: Triple Pedal Problems
I think you did not understand my message, the solder that may be broken is not that one, it is the one at the other end of the cable, the Neutrik brand connector.
