Scary opening up nord 2 hp (velocity problem one key)

Post by Therealnoob »

Dear Nord-friends,

thanks for having me here. I really appreciate your help so far and want to pursue the unthinkable for me (noob concerning electronics)
opening up my Nord 2 hp. Thanks so much to @csciguy8 for his thorough documentation of opening up his Nord 2 HA88. (nord-piano-grand-forum-f10/fixing-dead- ... t9756.html)
I actually started already and took some pictures and I got scared because I wasn't able to put the top back on properly and thought
before I continue further I need your help because the hp version looks a little different than the normal one.
In Pic 1,2 you see that it doesnt close properly and thats because of this big metal thing in pic 5 not really fitting.
(Sorry this may be really easy to fix but I didnt get it and dont want to destroy anything)

(In warranty time I got something officially replaced because many keys lost its touch sensitivity) So I never want to go through the hassle of packing up this baby

So my questions are
1) Do you think I should proceed? xD --> just need some cheering on or a warning of not doing it at all
2) Does anyone know about a tutorial of taking apart the nord 2 hp or is @csciguy8 s documentation the best it gets for me?
3) Theres some dust and little dirt parts but I guess a vacuum cleaner could destroy a lot right? How would you clean?
4) Do you have an easy solution for getting the top part back together properly?

Thanks so much everyone!
Cheers from Germany

Never disassembled one, so this is a wild guess. It looks like the vertical metal sheet needs to be aligned with the hole at the bottom of the chassis. I *guess* that currently it might be standing on top of something (either the power supply board, or the nut&bolt that keeps the keyboard attached to the chassis.
I would try *very gently* to try to insert it again (noting that the metal sheet has an "L" shape, it might not fall in place from top to bottom, but you might have to manoeuver/slot it from the front (keyboard side) to the back (back panel side).

Have you checked the fuse?
Also check that all the cables are properly inserted in place.
