I'm Alvin from near Charlotte, NC, USA.
I've played piano/keyboards since elementary school. I've played for various local bands since the 70's, now mostly for praise and worship in my church.
I've owned at least one different keyboard for every decade since the late 60's: Ace Tone Combo Organ, Elka Rhapsody, Farfisa Compact, Ensoniq ESQ-1, Ensoniq ZR-76, Alesis QS, Yamaha Motif 6, Casio CT-X5000, Roland FA-07, and now recently, the Nord Stage 3.
I bought the Nord Stage 3 as a retirement present for myself, and I'm loving it! It seems to be clearest, fullest, and generally best sounding of all the keyboards I've had. Our bass player said it's the first keyboard I've used that didn't clash with his bass on the low notes!
I like that it's a performance keyboard with the important settings at my fingertips, without searching through display pages. A lady at church last week (who also plays keyboard) said it looked like a spaceship with all the controls on the panel!
I also like to layer piano, organ, and pad sounds, and it's perfect for that. Right out of the box, in less than a day, I was able to tweek together a great (in my opinion) program sound for use the following Sunday.
