Re: Setting "Organ Preset I and II" on Electro 6d
I have my favourite drawbars settings stored in programs on my Electro 6d. I would like to use the Preset button to swap drawbars settings for the lower manual (of left hand sound), while keeping the physical drawbars available for modifying the upper manual (or right hand sound). I can't get this to work. It seems like the Preset button only affects the part that is currently controlled by the physical drawbars, which is not what I want.
Is there a way to modify right hand sound with the physical drawbars while swapping left hand drawbar settings by touching the Preset button?
Apologies, I just noticed that this thread was in the Nord Stage forum, while my question is about the Electro. Not sure is this is different...

The electro 6d only has a single organ engine. That means you can use a preset or use the drawbars, but you can't do both at the same time. Splits don't change that limitation.RobHPG wrote:I have my favourite drawbars settings stored in programs on my Electro 6d. I had a brief look into the NE6‘s manual and would imagine that it is possible in DUAL ORGAN MODE as explained on page 13:RobHPG wrote:I have my favourite drawbars settings stored in programs on my Electro 6d. At least worth a try.

Re: Setting "Organ Preset I and II" on Electro 6d
That's what I thought too Tasten-Bert, and I am using Dual Organ Mode. However, I can't get it to work, which is why I'm asking this forum. I'm told that both the physical drawbars and the Preset button will both affect the same part (upper or lower, depending on whether you select Edit upper or Edit Lower). If this is true - even in Dual Organ mode, this is a real shame - as without this, the Preset button adds very little value from my perspective.

What RobHPG asks not what the manual says, it says you can switch between the 2 manuals using the Edit Lower Manual, but focus of all controls is always on the selected manual.Tasten-Bert wrote:I had a brief look into the NE6‘s manual and would imagine that it is possible in DUAL ORGAN MODE as explained on page 13:RobHPG wrote:I have my favourite drawbars settings stored in programs on my Electro 6d. Press the EDIT LOWER MANUAL button to focus the lower manual for editing and drawbar interaction. To return to the upper manual, simply press the button again.
So to switch preset on Lower then return to drawbars control of Upper you'd need 3 clicks (at risk of missing one) EDIT->PRESET->EDIT, not really handy.
Anyway, I suggested RobHPG a solution in the other thread where he is discussing this (i.e. send the Preset chaneg MIDI CC from the external keyboard he is using as lower manual, which is a MoDX so for sure capable of doing that)

Re: Setting "Organ Preset I and II" on Electro 6d
Okay, Rob, if I understand correctly what you intend to do, it seems as if you want to switch between two left hand drawbar settings - you would use the PRESET 1 and PRESET 2 setups to achieve this - and would like to be free in using various right hand drawbar settings respectively would alter them freely.
What if you made two DUAL ORGAN programmes in direct order, completely identical except the lower drawbars, and then have your what you aim is PRESET 1 setting in the first programme and your resp. PRESET 2 setting in the second programme. If you save the programmes with MANUAL ORGAN activated, I guess you should be able to change the upper drawbars to whatever you like while playing, and when you go back to the first programme, the MANUAL function should take up the actual drawbar setting. Oh, I hope you can follow my thoughts, would be curious if it helps.
Seamless transition on NE6 should avoid sound interruptions, shouldn‘t it?

Thank you Tasten-Bert. Electro 6d doesn't have Preset 1 and 2, I suspect that you're referring to the Electro 5.

Re: Setting "Organ Preset I and II" on Electro 6d
No, then I wasn‘t able to explain what I mean. The drawbar setting which you want to have as preset 1 should make the lower = left hand setting in the one programme, and the lower drawbars which you want to make preset 2 with should be the left hand in the second programme.

Re: Setting "Organ Preset I and II" on Electro 6d
Yes, I could use 2 programs for each upper drawbar settings, with each their own lower drawbar settings. Caveate is that any changes that I make to the upper drawbar settings while playing, are lost whenever I switch programs, which then not only changes lower but also upper sound. I'm looking into Maxpiano's suggestion to change lower drawbar settings via a MIDI CC on the connected external synth (MODX), either using a button or - even better - controlling lower manual drawbar settings via faders on the MODX. This seems very promising, and would be perfect. Will let you know!

Re: Setting "Organ Preset I and II" on Electro 6d
Hi Rob,
I think you‘re now half on the way which I tried to describe. The missing step is the button MANUAL ORGAN. If I get it right then an activated button MANUAL ORGAN will be saved with each programme, so that I guess that immediately after you switched to the other programme the actual position of the drawbars (which is to where you last pulled them while playing in the first programme) will be taken from the new programme - so no sound jumps.
For me it would be worth a try if I had an NE6.
Cheers again from sunny Germany
