HERE IT COMES STAGE 4 ?

Everything about Nord keyboards in general; which one to choose, the sound manager, sample editor, and general discussion about the sample and piano libraries.

I think he means product "from" Europe should all be discounted *in the US*. But apparently that's not what's happening, only Nord's prices have been cut.

Yes, but he’s also saying that only Nord products are being discounted, as they would be if they were clearing inventory for new products.

But Nord products are NOT being discounted anywhere except in the United States. So unless inventory is much higher in the US, that argument doesn’t really hold.

Well, regardless what the reason is (and there is no more distributor's rep like Pablo Mastodon here to give their perspective), what does remain true is:

--The holidays are here and Clavia hasn't released anything new, including any new piano sample. The last Grand sample (let's face it, the ones that really matter) was three-and-a-half years ago.

--Even with the price cut, the Stage is still very expensive and entering its 6th year without a model update. The hapless Electro is entering its 5th year without an update. Previous updates to both models used to average every three years.

--"Supply chain issues" and Covid lockdowns are no longer adequate excuses for an instrument manufacturer to be this far behind in product design and release.

--Communication and marketing continue to be non-existent. The Facebook page is just a video collection of Nord's house artists, particularly the Jesus Molina Trio. The website is regularly updated, but only with occasional software patches, not-very-useful sound banks and the aforementioned videos. Now would be the time to start hyping the company's upcoming 50th year anniversary. Dead silence on that, too.

--Everyone is now holding their breath for NAMM 2023. I seem to remember the same inhaling going on for NAMM 2022, and we all know what didn't happen there.

I don't recall if there were time limits on the NS2EX clearance prices, but for the two reputable dealers I frequently patronize, the current NS3 sale prices expire on Dec 29 and Dec 31 respectively. That alone doesn't preclude an upcoming announcement of a Stage 4, but it also doesn't support the idea that the Stage 3 is a clearance item.

If I had to guess, I'd say that sales dropped more than expected with the recent price increase, and this is a way to push more units out the door before end of year. It could also be, in part, a price elasticity test to estimate demand and maybe even help determine final product specifications and quantities and types of components to be ordered for future manufacturing and assembly. If there's not a big enough market for a $5,299 Stage, they could be considering what they could leave out to achieve a $4,199 product and what each increase in sale price could include.

I can warranty that clavia already know the price they will ask for next nord instrument and they dont wait to see if people will buy the discounted nord stage 3 pieces…

They just wanna sell all the not sold stock so they can fill the stores again with their new product..

Just wait a bit more.. time is come soon..

Together with the new instrument they should give a new grand piano sample since the last one is white grand which was back at 2019 with nord grand

Warranties nowadays are quite insecure. But nevertheless you shouldn't say things like that. Even if there is a certain probability.

Please bear in mind that there may be a new model presented in the next few months. You may even be able to command it. But probably not get it delivered within a month or two.

I feel the same as Gambold about the most recent acoustic piano patches released by Nord. While the White Grand (2019) mattered a lot, there has been only one new AP sound released since then (Felt Upright). While I feel that that new Upright piano sounds could matter a lot, the only new Upright AP sound released since 2019 is the Felt Upright, and I have no interest in at after listening to its preview on the Nord web site. The previous 3 new upright sounds (Baby, Amber and Bambino) were quirky (I tried 2 of them on my Electro 3). A new Upright AP sound that had the sound quality upgrade that the White Grand brought for Grand AP sounds would be a big welcome - especially if it worked reasonably well in single speaker mode.

I would guess they came out with the Felt piano because it is a sound that became very popular with film, media, ambient, composers and sound designers. I like the sound and use it like the the felt piano from way back when for a quieter sound for practicing at night. I also applying effects to it for some film score sounds. I'm happy with Nord's grands maybe a Gospel piano, what I'd like to see is more EP's like a Vintage Vibe like sample and they definitely need better Wurlitzer samples.
