What I derive from that job offer is two things:
a) growing business may have drawn their attention from development - which isn't a sign for inactivity;
b) development has some workload that needs to be destressed in order to get reliable products designed.

Regarding the possibility of Clavia changing their business model to charge for eternal access to their sound library - it won't happen. The pricing for the sound library is already built-in to the cost of your Nord, which is higher than its competing products. The sound library is also a big marketing tool for them...to start charging for it would make them look grasping and lose them customers.

But the real determiner to not charge is that most of the sound library isn't very useful, and thus not worth a levy. It's great that it's there, and it appears enormous in its offerings, but most of those offerings won't ever be used by 99% or more of Nord customers. I'm talking the piano AND sample libraries. When you buy a Nord, you already have a ton of pianos and samples loaded on, and I'm guessing a lot of people are perfectly fine with that, and don't care about the sound library.

For those who do explore it, while there are still a few older piano samples that have loyal followings, every survey taken on this board overwhelming favors the newest one or two available at the time. When Clavia finally releases a new Grand, I have no doubt that unless it's an outlier like the Velvet or Felt, it will easily surpass the White as everyone's new Number One. Indeed, Clavia could quietly remove the back half of the Grand and Upright piano samples and very few people would complain. If any of you are like me, you've probably already downloaded all the piano samples and stored them to your Google drive anyway

As for the Sample Library, it's very large but again - how many Cimbaloms does anyone need? Nord is kindly offering four to choose from. The Sample library is packed with eccentric instruments that will almost never be used by anyone - and anyone who WAS interested in such sounds, most likely for ethereal recordings, probably has synth software that can generate them a lot of faster than the time it takes to hunt them down and download them from the Nord site. And again - your keyboard already comes loaded with plenty of useful samples in every category.

SO - while the Nord Library is a great resource and a wonderful "freebie" (it's not really free)...let's not overstate how often we use or need it. If Nord started charging, I know I wouldn't pay for it.

I take it "embedded programmer" means this is not a remote job, but that you need to live and work in Stockholm. And knowing Swedish would be a big help

No salary range was posted or title of supervisor. With a company of only 40 people, this person would probably be one of very few computer people working there. It's would be a great job for a programmer looking for something different, if the money was good enough - AND if they wanted to live in the Stockholm area.

I don't know what an "external CEO" does, but I'm guessing the position is a paper one for legal reasons. He does not have a seat on the Clavia board. The Board is three people, two of whom are the founder and his wife:

So again -we have a very small, family-run business (what we call a Mom and Pop shop in America) where there doesn't appear to be anyone in a position to make significant changes to keep up with the times.

Not sure if yours was a joke Gambold, anyway (just in case) "embedded programmer" here means "programmer expert in SW development for embedded HW systems" (like Nord keyboards are) but I also guess the job will require presence @Clavia main office in Stockholm.
