mrvegas wrote:Hello there, I really appreciate the uploaded comparisons using different genres. The audio files are named as NS3 Sim vs. Ventilator, so I assume the the first part of each video is the NS3 Sim and the second part of each audio file is the Ventilator. Do I have that correct, or is it the other way around?
You are correct. 1st part of the demo is NS3 and 2nd part is Vent II

I have to say, the sound differences are subtle and in some cases (eg the Hard rock) the NS3 actually sounds a bit better to me... perhaps not as warm but possibly more useable in a mix

Let's get this thread going again. How about some side by side comparisons of the Nord Rotary sim against the Ventilator 2 with some Lounsberry Pedals added into the mix!

I just got these pedals last night and after 20 beers decided it was time to turn on the camera and have a shootout!

I’m playing a NS2 and I’m also finding that sometimes the Nord rotary sim sounds good on certain songs compared to the
NeoVent II. I have discovered recently that if you are using the Vent for live events and you intend to run mono, you’ll want to tweak the settings. If you have been using the Vent in your home studio in stereo, take the time to make adjustments for mono, it WILL make a big difference.

I also thought of buying the vent, but i forced myself to acknowledge that this is a clear case of GAS (gear acquisition syndrome). I am pretty sure that with all that hassle of extra cable management, routing, additional space, another power plug, not to mention the extra $$$, I would eventually end up reselling the Vent on eBay and stick to the simple but still good-sounding, built-in system. The marginal Imcrease of sound quality (or flexibility - if at all) wouldn’t justify all that extra effort.

I totally agree about the pairing of the Vent @ericL / I took a dremel tool and cut out the Rotary Speaker section of my Stage 3. Now I have a nice little place to put my vape mod.

Sorry........ or Roland Fantom 61, I find them incredibly good. For me there is no "semi wightet waterfall" keyboard from Nord that I like, otherwise I would have bought a Lead or Wave a long time ago. Even with the NS3 76 (Hammer Action) I couldn't get used to it and had the keyboard replaced with the one from the NS EX 76, which I find much better. Sunny greetings

PSA - The Ventilator II is now back in stock at Sweetwater. Price has only gone up 10% since I bought my first one back in May, 2020. Get them while they're still available.
