Fairly new to the NE6 and I have researched this issue ad nauseam. When I select a program and play it, as soon as I move the volume 'Level' control either direction, the volume drops so low (barely audible) that even the master level at max and my external speaker controls can't bring it back up to acceptable. I have to reboot the NE6 and be content with the volume it presents. What am I missing or how do I solve this issue?

Please disregard...I think I've found the answer. In the event any other FNG has a similar problem, check to insure your "CTRLPED" light isn't activated with no control pedal connected.
