I would like to play an engine (organ, piano or sample) from my Nord electro 6D on an external midi controller (Roland A 800 pro in this case). I've been battling for months and can't get any sound out of the sections I send to my controller. The Lo section is in red for the samples and the external Kbd to Lo mode is activated. Maybe it's a connection problem?
I am in Midi In on my Nord and in Midi Out on the A 800 pro.
The Nord is in the Right/Left jack output on my sound card (Scarlett Solo) and works well with Ableton
So the UP sound comes out fine on Ableton but nothing comes out when I play on the controller
Have you checked the MIDI configuration on NE6 (Extern KB parameter) and ensured it is the same channel on which the A800 Pro is transmitting?
Then, of course, you will have to enable ExternToLO on the NE6D (Shift+KB Split) and assign one or more sections to the LO part
NOTE: you don't "send NE6 parts to the controller", you rather "assign NE6D section to the LO part + enable LO part to be controlled by an Extern KB (when it sends data on the channel defined in NE6 related MIDI parameter)"

The little LED in the upper right corner of the PROGRAM section on your Electro panel should show if the Nord receives MIDI commands or not - alas, it doesn't indicate if it's on the same channel as the Nord is listening for the External KBD MIDI (s. p. 28 in the manual). The Global MIDI channel should be set to another value.
after all you said I guess it can only be a mismatch of MIDI channels. Try your Roland on MIDI channel 16 as this is the electro‘s default setting for an external keyboard.
Cheers and good luck

Hi guys, thx for the answers !
There is no signs that MIDI is arriving on my Electro as the little MIDI led does not shine. With the several answers I had, I re verified the MIDI assignations of My Electro + of My Mdi controller but idk why, it's been 3 months I'm trying, nothing comes out :'(
Just a thing that could be intresting. I don't have power on my A800, it's power by USB on my computer. Any VST plugin I start, my A800 is able play it via MIDI. Maybe Should I buy a power for my A800 to avoid it to communicate via USB MIDI with my computer ?

Thx again
Yes, actually you can use any standard USB power supply for that.
If you instead want to keep the USB connection to the computer or you have to check the "MIDI I/F Switch" parameter on the A800 and set it to Off, because when ON and connected via USB to a computer it disables the direct connection of MIDI DIN IN/OUT (they are treated as a MIDI interface for the computer).
Check the A800 manual for more details about this.

That was as simple as this. I knew the "usb powered" could interfer with the midi connection. however I switch off the usb mode on the A800 but nothing changed... So I just decided to buy a classic power for the midi controller and TADA, it's working. Thanks for help guys !
No I will stand on this forum to understand how Apply the sustain pedal on the two keybord, and how/if the pitch/modulation of my controller can work with tthe Electro :') :') :')
Thanks again
