I wouldn't assume that's the case. At some point, at least on paper, they changed the TP100 design to have a third sensor (though whether it behaves as you'd expect a third sensor to behave is a whole other discussion). I don't know whether (or for how long) they continued to produce the original version. It's possible the Nord HPs have transitioned. For whatever reason, the newer TP100s I've tried (e.g. on the Dexibells) feel better to me than the older ones (though still not as good as a TP40).
