I'll let you guys know when I get chance to have the calibration thingy put back in place.
I'm absolutely in love with my Nord, it's the first keyboard I've ever heard that has vintage piano sounds that ACTUALLY sound like like vintage pianos. Don't get me started on how awesome the new Bambino Upright sound is, it's like I've got my old Baldwin spinet right there on stage with me! :D

Hello VintagePianoMan, my Electro 3 HP has the same issue from time to time. I was wondering if you were able to solve the issue.

Thanks!

Hi Pablo,
First of all thanks for your detailed post explaining that error it saved me so much!
I am having the same issue with my Nord Electro 3 HP since December and just living with it by pressing any button at startup and playing.
My question is : can we live with this error forever and it will work just fine every time?

Cheers, Joe

"Keyboard Calibration Failure Error" The issue with the calibrations seems to occur when the cable going to the calibration chip comes loose, or is disconnected. I pulled the keybed out to replace a key contact strip and now I get this error. Could it be that not all connections in the connector are not making contact? Does the calibration chip require a reset to signal it has been reconnected? Or, does replacing a key contact result in complete failure of the keybed? Any way of getting rid of this fault after the warranty has expired?

I’m living with this error since I first posted here in 2017, that’s 4 years now. Still working, the error keeps popping up at startup from time to time. It’s fully functional still, so I’m not too worried about this.

The simplest cause is a poorly seated connector (as suggested by Pablo earlier in this thread).

I don't recall if the cable is keyed to prevent misalignment either by offset to one side or by rotation: Check that the all pins align correctly and get fully inserted into the receptacle. Ribbon cables usually mark "Pin 1" with a red wire on one side of the ribbon or with a triangle mark embedded in the plastic of receptacle. Check that the cable's Pin 1 matches the pin 1 indication on the circuit board header (usually a dot or triangle printed in white ink beside the header). If this is unclear, please send pictures if you decide to re-open your Nord and we can try to assist.

Finally, the memory device containing the calibration data might be damaged by handling. In this case, I think it cannot be restored.

Hopefully it's just a poorly-seated connector. Let us know what you find.
Good luck and welcome to the forum!

I have the same issue. I fixed a dead note on my Electro and when I put it back together it gives 'err kbd rea' message on boot up. If I press any button it seems to reset and work as per normal. Can't figure what I did to get this as all ribbon are nicely connected? Any ways to get rid of this? why does it happen?
