Samples wouldn't play at a show
Hello,
Wasn't sure what to call this as it seems like a pretty bizarre problem. Last night I played a show with my nord electro 6HP. I use quite a few samples that I've made myself and uploaded and assigned to the keys I want. They've always worked, I've been using the same samples for around 2 years.
I have a few patches where I split the keyboard so for example the left side is piano and the right from middle C are my samples I've loaded on (again never once had a problem with them) so last night I got on stage with my band, went to play the samples and none of them worked only the piano settings worked but no samples, when I went off live mode they worked but not on my live mode. I was plugged in Stereo but don't have any samples panned left or right.
I've tried searching this problem on Google but can't seem to find an answer. I've got back today to try and sort out my samples and every single one is absolutely perfect, no issues, they're all working fine and my live mode is perfect.
Has anyone experienced this before or know why it could have happened? I have a show on Sunday so need to make sure there's nothing weird going on by then!
Thanks!

Live mode is NOT a stored program with any guarantee that it will be in any specific specific state (as its designed to follow changes as you modify settings on your keyboard).
What happened is your samples got turned off somewhere (you or somebody turned off the samples). If you want your settings to always return to a specific known state you have to use programs.

Correct, don’t use Live Mode for things like this.
Nords: NE2, NS2 88, NS3 Compact x 2

Studio: Hammond A-101 & Leslie 122, Yamaha CP-80, Yamaha S90, NS2, DSI Prophet-6, Vent II, Roland JX-8P.

Re: Samples wouldn't play at a show
Thanks for your reply, so I've used live mode for 2 years no issues and know that when a change is made within live mode they automatically save that way, for example I add vibe on my sample it'll save with with vibe on automatically.
Nothing had been changed, all samples were on all of my live banks as I have 8 saved live banks with my own samples on, if they were changed and saved then when I switched my nord back on today they wouldn't have worked, it would have been exactly the same as when I played the show. But every single one worked just as it was supposed to.
Any ideas?

Re: Samples wouldn't play at a show
Just to add to the chorus, I wouldn't use live mode for this. How hard is it to just store a program?
Something that could cause the problem you describe is that a knob was twiddled in the sample synth section, like the attack was set to some high value, or the decay was set to zero. Only had to be accidentally sitting in the wrong position, and cop a tiny knock to make this happen. This is exclusively a live mode problem, because if you were using a program, you could always just reselect the program and be back to guaranteed good settings.

Re: Samples wouldn't play at a show
All good, I've spoken to my friend who's a sound engineer and he's cleared it up what it could have been for me.
Definitely didn't knock any settings and I obviously tried taking attack off, selecting and deselecting samples on live mode and still nothing. Sounds like a phase issue and not an issue on my side as its working perfectly today and as I said above, it wouldn't have worked today if I'd have knocked anything as live mode saves everything I do automatically.
Cheers though
