Dual function music rest

Post by Normhart »

Apologies if this has been covered before, but is there a music rest than can be rotated 90 degrees horizontally to function as a shelf/platform? I’d love to see something like this with width adjustment. I suppose one could just get a music stand and have it positioned appropriately but it’d be nice to have it fit into the mounts as well as have the width adjustment feature.

A music rest that's lying flat? Nice idea, but what weight would it have to support? If it's for some pieces of paper, I'd say: Do what you want to a poor Nord music rest. But don't load the carriers too much. There are plenty of specialised laptop stands etc. for things like that. Or use a projector tray or a percussion table:

Which should exist from other brands, too.

Yeah, that would be a problem I suppose. At best even if the weight issue were addressed by using some kind of bracket arrangement all it would do is just eliminate the pole piece in the music stands you linked to. BTW I used the bracket idea to mount the little Korg MicroKey shown in my profile pic.
