Re: Nord Stage 4
Maybe if they charged extra for the motorized drawbars...I certainly wouldn't want to pay for them though, I'm happy with the current ones.

Re: Nord Stage 4
I think (or I hope) that futur A1/Wave/Stage will have a special morph group to be controled by the modulators (like LFO, Mod Env). Or at least, to have hability to control the actual morph in this way. A small evolution that could greatly increase possibilities.
Actual synth: Nord Modular G2 - Nord Stage 3 73 - Virus Ti2 - Peak - Prophet 6
Before: Nord Lead 3 & 4, Stage 1&2, Wave, Virus C, DSI Tetra, P12, and few others...

Re: Nord Stage 4
The only problem or quandary I am currently in is the ns3 is great however i play a lot. I know someday i may have to send this for repair etc etc. would love to have another as a backup but they are getting harder to find at least the compact is. Do I get another soon or wait to see if the ns4 comes out ? Like car companies will tell you hey new mustang etc coming out in june why cant keyboards be the same way. I would not care if they just gave a general time frame
" Ns4" coming 2022.

Re: Nord Stage 4
I'd expect the C2D to be updated first, then the resulting technology be incorporated into a Stage 4 along with an updated synth engine based upon the Wave 2. The previous launch dates of the Original Stage, Stage 2 and Stage 3 have been 6 years apart with an EX version in-between, which would suggest a 2023 launch of the Stage 4 if the pattern is followed.
That being said, I'm not sure if there's room for memory expansion or other improvements in the Stage 3 due to limitations of the existing hardware/software. If that's the case, then the possibility could exist for a jump directly to the Stage 4. If a Stage 3 EX is in the works, we would probably hear about it in the next 6 to 9 months.
As for getting a second Stage, I'd highly recommend it if it's feasible. I really need the 88 for all the splits I use, but the Compact is great for taking to rehearsal and allows me to use more sounds at a gig without needing to change programs during a song or to queue up sounds for the next song during a medley. Plus, if I'm not adding samples, it takes me less than a minute to backup and restore from one board to the other so they are always in sync, so I have immediate backup should one of them go down during a gig.

Ah yes I can't wait for a new C2 version to be announced! And hopefully as you say this is what makes the most sense for Clavia too, commercially. That could easily be my next purchase.ajstan wrote:I'd expect the C2D to be updated first, then the resulting technology be incorporated into a Stage 4 along with an updated synth engine based upon the Wave 2.

Re: Nord Stage 4
I've compiled a Wish List for all Nord keyboards, including and most importantly the Nord Stage 4...
Feel free to add your suggestions!
(I know it's not an "official" wish list, but I'm curious what you guys would like to see in the upcoming keyboards from Nord!
And please note that we should still stay in the "ball park" of each series - e.g. Electro will probably not get a full synth...

Re: Nord Stage 4
nice spreadsheet
for FASTER SAMPLE TRANSFERS: At least it should be in background... right not the complete NS3 is blocked during the transfer...

Re: Nord Stage 4 wish list
I like everything you said here, except I would say it's better if they make bigger screen size than scrolling text. It's easier and faster to see non-moving text.MartinJ2EX wrote: .

6)
show both panel settings on the OLED screen.
Now, there's only the info for the currently selected Panel, right?
I'd love to see:
Organ A: B3 888000000 | B3 888640088 (can be the same design with visual representation, not numbers, but both panels like on Electro 6)
Piano A: White Grand | B: Ballad EP1
Synth A: Symph Strings | B: SuperSaw
I can imagine, that the screen is too small to show all this info, but maybe increase its size, or maybe change to a moving text (like in all music apps or in cars), or switch the info from time to time...

Re: Nord Stage 4
Looks like it's been 5 years since NS3 came out. History suggests NS4 should be out by now, unless they think NS3 is okay as it is? Or they have a very ambitious goal and it's taking a long time to release?
My NS2 is having issues, and if I have to replace it, I really don't want to buy the aging NS3 right now, especially since it looks like I'm going to have to rebuild all my patches from scratch every time I upgrade.
