New Red Wood Music Stand Question

Post by HelloOatmeal »

Hi Friends,

Can anyone tell me more about the Nord red, wood music stand? I know it is compatible with most models, but was it designed specifically for the Grand?

I guess more specifically, is it the exact same thing as the black, metal stand?

Does anyone have experience with the red one, or even better, a picture or 2 they could share?

I am struggling to justify the $80 difference between the red and the black stand, but in the one picture I have found of the stand on a Grand... it does look pretty sweet.

Thanks!

There are two Nord Wood Stands, an older one and a newer one, typically designated V2. For the Nord Grand you need the V2 version, the newer one. If you mistakenly get the older stand, the metal plates that come with it will not line up with certain screws on the bottom of the grand. I had this discussion some time back with another member who had gotten the older stand.

Again: Topic is the new wooden music rest, not the keyboard stand. I don't think there are two versions. And of course, it's not specifically for the Grand - it fits for multiple instruments. Although maybe mostly meant for the Grand. Particularly for home use.

Thanks all for the responses!

I am indeed talking about the music stand, NOT the piano stand.

However, I realize I may not have been clear. My question is not about compatibility, simply I want to know the difference between the 2 (there are actually TWO versions of the V2 stand.)

The original Black (metal) V2, and the newer Red Wood V2.

Both are listed at this link which has all the Nord keyboard accessories (again, BOTH are "Version 2"):

https://www.nordkeyboards.com/products/ ... ccessories

I just want to know if there is any difference between them besides the fact that one is made of wood and is red?

Hi HelloOatmeal,

I‘ve had the opportunity to take both in hands at a store a short while ago. Their size is the same. There is one difference in the construction: whereas the metal version is bent from one piece of metal, the wooden version only has the large „back“ board made of wood, and the bottom rest (where your sheets stand on) is made of metal. These two are fixed with screws. Advantage: When your wood part gets damaged, it‘s easy to replace it with whatever you can find.

Anyway, I have a different opinion regarding the Red on stage. The more Red there will be the less big the eyecatching impact of my keyboard itself will be. I have all the accessories in black. Stay healthy everybody and best regards from Germany

And, as I have just now seen that you joined only yesterday, I‘d like to give you a warm welcome to this wonderful forum with lots of nord enthusiasts.
