Nord Grand dimension on top plate

Post by Bjosko »

Hi
I am planning to add a NG to my man-cave, and want to know how deep the top-plate are.
I'm guessing around 150 mm ?
My plan are to build a desk where i can use some of the top-plate to hold the front of a second keyboard.

I measure it to be 160mm just the red piece of wood.
It's such a nice piece of wood that it'll be shame to cover it up with a keyboard ;-)
We're in 2020 and we can get a stage piano with an incredible key action, superb sound and its covered by an massive piece of wood ... not fake wood ...

Thank you.
For me the piano are a tool, not a furniture.
But my plan are to build something similar to the original Nord Piano Stand, but take advance of the top-plate so it are possible to stack whatever I want on top of it.

If everything are working out as I am planning, it would look much better than a regular black (or red) 2-tier stand, keep the keyboards closer together and reduce the need of the total depth.
Will update in a separate thread if everything are working out as I wish.
Unfortunately, I am better with a screwdriver than a jigsaw and a paintbrush
