My Nord Stage 2EX Wont start. Send Help.

So I started my Nord today. Was working As normal for about 5 minutes then just went of. So I turned it off an on again, All the
lights come on for a split second on initial boot up, But then It's just keep repeating "Starting OS 6.08" Fully loads. Then Moves to
"Stage EX Compact HWrev 1.6-14"
Then back and forth not going anywhere after that. I've tried using different
power outlets and cables, but it just keeps doing the same thing. I've also
tried to update the software but the Nord is not recognised on my laptop like
normal. Please help

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Re-installing the OS is a good idea, did you try the troubleshooting hints given in the OS update instructions, especially the last part?

In the rare cases where the operating system in the Nord instrument have become damaged and the unit does not start properly, the Update Utility will be unable connect to the unit. If this is the case, start up the Nord while simultaneously holding down the Shift and Store buttons on the panel. This will start the unit in the Update mode, which makes it possible for the Update Utility to access and update the operating system in a Nord that does not start properly.

Hey thanks.! I've give that a try and it's still not recognising the keyboard. I've tried the Shift + Store start up also. Switched out several cables and power supplies and still not luck. Is there any other alternate method of reseting the keyboard?

Hoping is just and update thing.

Hmm - I assume you also tried different USB cables, right? Do you have a chance to try with a different computer, just to eliminate potential issues with your laptop?

Yea I have a few other USB Keyboards and tested all the cables to check they all work, but still no luck. I've also tried 2 different power sources and cables. It's really strange because when you press the Store + shift, the display changes. So the Nord it recognising that function, but not having it with the MIDI.

I don't think that Midi is involved in the update procedure. When you start the Nord with Store + Shift while connected to your computer with an USB cable, and then start the latest OS update program, which can be downloaded from the Nord website for the Stage 2 EX, the Nord Stage should be recognized by the update program. If this does not happen your Stage 2 Ex might have a hardware failure / damage for which you would need a Nord service center to get it fixed.

Also have you installed the latest version of the Nord USB driver for Windows (assuming you are using a Windows-based laptop)?

If you have previously used the Nord Sound Manager of version 5.28 or later, this driver is already installed on your computer. Yea sorry should have specified. I'm using a Mac and have installed the latest driver, and installer for Nord. I have been using the USB connection as stated. But I just tried the Midi to see if anything happened. Ahh right, is there any other way of restarting the Nord to factory settings without a computer?

Not that I am aware of ... do you have access to a Windows computer to try?
