Hello Nord comunity,
I'm trying to get Midi Thru on the Midi Out socket to the start and it doesn't work.
Of course I have read the manual and The Nord Stage MIDI Tutorial, but it does not work.
I must have misunderstood something.
Can someone explain to me what I have to set?
I want to send my external Midi In data, which comes in at the Midi In socket, out at the Midi Out socket like with a real Midi Thru socket.
My setup:
1. Masterkeyboard A sends to Midi In on Nord Stage 3 Compact
2. Nord Stage 3 send the Midi In Data as real Midi Thru jack on the Midi Out jack to the Midi In jack on Keyboard C
Masterkeyboard A Midi Out > Midi In Nord Stage 3 Compact > Midi Out Nord Stage 3 Compact as real Midi Thru Data > Midi In on Keyboard C
thank you very much for your feedback

Re: Real Midi Thru on Nord Stage 3 Compact
It's been a while since I used it last, but IIRC you cannot "randomly" have all notes transmit to the external instrument.
Maybe have a look here, where it's discussed at length: general-nord-forum-f29/midi-thru-death- ... 14963.html -- and just skip the harsh words initially; I think the details are happening somewhere from page 2 or so in that thread

Re: Real Midi Thru on Nord Stage 3 Compact
Nord Stage implements a Soft Thru which is not designed to be a 100% ("real") MIDI Thru but limited to notes and selected channels*, if you need a full/real MIDI Thru you'd rather use a MIDI Thrubox.
* see NS3 Manual, Extern Section:
EXTERN SECTION AND MIDI SOFT THRU
When an external device transmits MIDI notes to the Stage 3 and the Extern section is active, incoming MIDI notes can be re-routed to the MIDI Output of the Stage 3, on the MIDI channel that is set for the Extern section.
This allows you to control one external device from another external device. The incoming notes must be on the same MIDI channels as set in the Stage 3 for the Panel A or Panel B MIDI channel, or the Global MIDI channel setting.

Re: Real Midi Thru on Nord Stage 3 Compact
Hi Guys,
Thanks for your Feedback and special thanks to maxpiano, you are the Master !
> When an external device transmits MIDI notes to the Stage 3 and the Extern section is active,.......
This is what I was looking for and it works !!!!
I thought the "extern" section is on when I configure the "extern" section under Program Button 4.
No, there is still another "extern" section between the Synth + Effect 1.
Switching it on is the solution.
Thank you Guys for the fast answers under 60 min, I am really impressed from your helpfulness and ....the Clavia Nord products.
best greetings
