Transpose button midi assign

Is there a way to get the hardware transpose button on my stage 2 ex to transpose a software piano? I'm using the stage 2 as a midi controller

don't use the midi channel settings to address your remote device(s) -- use one (or both) External Section instead and the midi output will follow your transpose settings

"Transpose" is a local setting i.e related to the internal generators of NS2, but on MIDI OUT the NS2 always transmits the "real" note messages i.e you need to transpose on the software piano/host application.

PS: this has been changed on newer models, such as NS3, NE6 and NG which can also apply the transpose to the MIDI Output

with apologies to Max, who is right 99% of the time, this is not correct

set the midi channel settings to OFF in the Midi Menu and use External A or B to transmit midi data to remote devices and the outgoing midi data streams WILL be transposed per whatever transpose setting you are using
