OK folks,
sorry to resurrect an old thread, ish.... I've had some information come through officially from the UK nord distributor by email with regards to a few matters. Thought I'd share it with you.
1: Nord Piano Monitors UPDATE:
Certain users here have stated difficulty acquiring the brackets, etc for Nord Piano Monitors... The lack of information on Nord's website concerns me, so here's the official detail...
"the speaker brackets were re-designed last year. The difference is in how the speaker attaches to the bracket. The original bracket design had a flat base that the speaker sat on. The new bracket design doesn't have the flat base but screws directly into the bottom of the speaker via a star bolt. If you have the original type and are wanting to swap these for the new v2 bracket, then you would also need to change the speakers too, since the original speakers will not have the screw holes in the bottom for the brackets to attach. The best thing to do is to contact the shop you purchased your original speakers from, explain your situation and see what they can arrange for you."
2: Nord Piano Monitors CARRY CASE:
So that users are aware, there is indeed a nord Piano Monitors carry bag available.
"Yes, there is a carry case for the Piano Monitors available. You could order this through any Nord Dealer. They have an rrp of £69.00 inc VAT."
3: Nord C2D DISCONTINUED - CONFIRMED:
This relates to a post made some time ago informing users that the Nord C2D has been discontinued and as such is no longer manufactured.
"The C2D model is discontinued due to the design and components reaching the end of their expandable life. But that isn't the end of the line for it. A new incarnation may come out at some point but it will be re-designed from the ground up with modern components to future-proof it. The C2D featured in lots of those NAMM promos because some of the guest artists were gospel players and regularly play the C2D. It was also useful for accompanying other artists who were playing the current instrument range."
I hope some of this information is of help to you

That's an interesting perspective to bring to the discussions of how older Nords eventually stop being fully compatible with (i.e. supporting all the features of) newer downloads. We don't know to what extent Nord doesn't want to put development resources into obsolete machines, versus limitations in the older machines that were part of their decisions to bring out replacements in the first place.LewTheKeysGuy wrote:"The C2D model is discontinued due to the design and components reaching the end of their expandable life. exactly as I thought. ok, considering the age of the C2D, I would have thought that a new version would have been released. I would hope so. would be nice to have a C3 either 2 or 3 manual combining electric organs like hammonds, etc as is now, with a decent, more open voiced pipe organ, more stops, etc. I'd buy one without question then.
