Successor for Lead A1
Hi,
After having the NLA1 for about 3 months, I really love it, but see some ‚room for improvment‘ for its successor:
- 61 keys
- aftertouch
- MIDI channel setting and MIDI on/off programmable individually for each performance
- eq (low, mid, high) for each slot
- a better keybed
- a display where you can at least see the program name
- more performance storage locations
- possibility for using samples
- vocoder
- possibility to set speed AND intensity for modulation effects
- having wheel and control pedal as separate morph control sources
what do you think?

Re: Successor for Lead A1
I like 49 keys for the A1, and I find the keybed good enough for synth duties. I like the rest of your list, if I could have only one it would be the larger display with program names. I find operations like copy / paste / move, for programs, slots and performances a bit unintuitive. If I haven't done it for a while I always need to go back to the manual, and I'm reluctant to do stuff like that during band rehearsals. Maybe an extended display could help with tidying up some of the program manipulation functionality too.

Re: Successor for Lead A1
I agree with Eumel and do not skimp on the keybed or the midi implementation. And don't be afraid to borrow ideas from the Lead 3.

Re: Successor for Lead A1
I would buy the board with the features that Eumel listed. These would be my highest priority items to make it a great companion to my NS3-88:
- Ability to use samples
- Updated display, maybe dual OLED displays like the NS3 - one for program editing, the other for synth editing
- 61 keys
- Aftertouch

NS3-88, NS3C, Casio CT-S1, Radial Key Largo, Westone AM Pro 30 IEMs, Rolls PM55P Headphone Mixer, K&M 18880 Keyboard Stand with 18881 Second Tier, Bose S1 Pro, JBL 305p MKII Monitors, Zoom Q2n-4K Gig Camera, Behringer XR18 Mixer

Re: Successor for Lead A1
The ability to use samples is very useful, all the Nord Wave users know this very well. I guess clavia do not intend to make a NW2 (they would have done it by now) so if they merged the sample abilities of the wave into a new lead it would be killer synth!
