SampleTekk has a piano also called "White Grand", it was released some 15 years ago, and that is indeed a Malmsjo. But this one isn't...

Re: White Grand?
I just downloaded it and did a quick run around the block with the L sample. Playing my Stage 2EX through a pair of QSC 8.2 speakers in my basement. I bit of overkill, I know.
It's got a nice singing quality to it. Not heavily laden with strong overtones - you can tell this is a small grand. The lower register is full but less heavy than the Italian or Imperial grands. To me, that allows it to sit in a mix better, as you're not stepping on the bass player.
Lot of detail here. Seems like it will work well in a solo situation.
First pass tells me it could fit well into the style of music I play and the type of sound I prefer. My next rehearsal is Monday, and I'll put it to the test (in mono).

Re: White Grand?
According to first demos, it sounds quite like the sound of Yamaha C7 (Studio Grand 1), no?
I compared both of them on same demos (Stomp, Boogie, and so on): sounds pretty similar... don't you think?
of course, a "plus" in dynamic and range for the White Grand...
... a "refined dynamic" version of a Studio Grand-like piano sound?

It appears to be a Steinway Model B.manuz wrote:According to first demos, it sounds quite like the sound of Yamaha C7 (Studio Grand 1), no?

Re: White Grand?
My gods, the file sizes are huge. A MEDIUM is over 100mb!!
I still would love to know WHY the newer the model, the bigger the file size - but I'm resigned to never knowing.
They are being very cagey about the make - usually it's pretty obvious in the file name. Can't wait to download it tonight!

Re: White Grand?
Just saw the last post - a Steinway!! Kind of a nice callback to John Lennon, although I don't think he was playing a Model B in the famous videos.

Re: White Grand?
What I am hearing as the file sizes get bigger is a big improvement in the detail and presence of the sound all the way through the 88 note range. The old samples used to kind of die in the upper octaves. I've just played this one a bit but does not have a weak octave to my ears so far. Strong all the way up.

That's true, it's noticeable in the otherwise formidable Imperial, which to my ears is probably the best of the "classic" (pre-Silver) Nord grands.

Model B is listed as under 7 feet, so those with better ears than I are nailing this.

Maybe, but I discovered that Steinway made this, in 2010..
