Any current MacBook Pro is good but get the i7 + 16GB if you want to run fun VSTs or effects. Cypher2 with the LinnStrument runs much better on the current MacBook Pro than it did the previous generation, which was also a max'd out i7 w/ 16GB (they're both 1TB SSDs).
