Yes, rotary makes it even thinner. It's very wrong "out of phase" sounding.NordPH wrote:I wonder if it´s just the the rotary effect?aureliopenna wrote:My opinion is thats there's no low end on NS3 hammond, even 60/40 or 70/30.
And the High Percussion is still crackling the sound!
I ran a sine wave through it and there seems to be a huge "hole" in the lower bass spectrum..

Even with that configurations, my Electro 4D sounded a lot better than the Stage 3 Compact

But electro 4d IS better than Stage 3 in terms of organ, as the electro 3 has better organ to in my opinion.Jo Osantos1 wrote:Even with that configurations, my Electro 4D sounded a lot better than the Stage 3 Compact
I don't want to be negative, but is wrong to say that they have the "same" organ. No they don't, they could share same everything and still souding different from each other.
Re: Nord Stage 3 - hammond B3 Sound
Hello. I am considering a purchase of the NS 3, and as I read the comments here about the B3 sound, I'm a bit concerned. I have not used any Nord products up to this point. I have used a Yamaha S90-ES for 12 years. But anyway - - my question concerns any updates to this B3 sound problem I see reported on this page.
Can anyone give me an update as to the status of the sound? Has Nord sent a patch or otherwise fixed the issue?
How do you all feel about the B3 sound in the NS 3 now?
Thank you,
Lou

After playing with it - eq - compression - and some of the sound menu setting - I'm pretty happy with it ...

Ok - here's what I've got that I'm fairly happy with. I may tweak it further at some point - but this works for now. Keep in mind I'm more of a rock/blues player and not a "clean" jazz or gospel player - settings for those styles would likely be different.
B3
Leslie On
Sound Menu
Mode: Vintage 2
Organ Click Level: High
Trigger Point: High
Leslie Type: 122 Close (this is an important one!)
Bass/Horn Ratio - i bounced around but ended up back at 50/50
Rotary Speed: Normal .... Acceleration: Low
Horn Speed: Normal .... Acceleration: Normal
EQ
Bass EQ: + 10db
Mid EQ: 635 Hz -3db
High EQ: +6db
Everything else in amp/eq section is off/0
Other
Compressor: 8 slow (many people will use "fast" but I find I like slow better most of the time)
Rotary Drive - I usually start about 3.5 and manually turn up or down to suit the song.
Reverb: Stage 1 Amt: 2.6
This works for me.
