Difference between Compact Stage Nord & Compact Stage Nord 2

Post by balanco »

A friend is selling his Compact Stage Nord. I can't find on eBay what these things are worth. What is the difference between Compact Nord Stage Revision C and the Compact Nord Stage 2?

:welcome:

The 2 has a much more developed synth section, a newer generation of organ simulation, more memory for pianos, and can load samples, just as a beginning....

I have the REvision B 88 NS and a NS2 SW (compact). The main difference for me is the organ section. The new NS2 has improved a lot in this regard. The next big difference is the capacity of using samples (NS Classic cannot load samples, only the special npno ones), then the improved synth engine.

If your friend is selling you the NS Compact for real cheap, say $1,500 USD or less, then I'd get that. It may not be the best out there right now, but trust me it can be more than enough. Keep in mind a used NS2 SW can still run up to $3,000 USD so if money is an issue then the NS Classic can be a no brainer.
Synths: Nord Stage 2 SW, Nord Lead 4R, Vintage Vibe 64 Active, Dave Smith Instruments Pro 2, Minimoog Voyager, Prophet 6, Korg Volcas
Stand: K&M Spider Pro and Hercules X Stands
Recording: Zoom UAC-8
Speakers: EV ELXP 112-P, Event Alp 5

Check the differences at the source http://www.nordkeyboards.com/products/n ... arison.pdf ;)
The comparison is with the EX, but apart from the doubled Piano Memory (256 Mb vs 128) and improved Piano engine on the EX, the rest is valid for the NS Classic too
