NS3 Compact Clanky Key (waterfall)

Post by maximusprime491 »

Hello! I just purchased a lightly used Stage 3 Compact. Everything works fine, however I noticed one of the keys has a slightly different resistance to it than all of the others. It is almost as if there is a small extra vibration when I press it down, and I'm guessing it might be rubbing on something on it's way down?

This doesn't seem to affect the performance of the sound or have any velocity issues. I'm wondering if this is something I should be concerned about and have fixed or if this problem could get worse with more use?

Can you make a video? I can help. I’ve taken apart my stage 3 compact many times.

I'm not sure how much a video would help unless I took the keyboard apart (which I would really prefer not to do). The key makes a slightly higher pitched sound than the other ones, but visually there is no difference when pressing it down.

Check if any plastic (or other material) debris is under the key or interfering with it

Sounds to me to be a spring issue..
Sometimes depending how much your compact was used. It may need broken in... I noticed when I bought mine. One key was not triggering like the others, and then started one fine after programming all my songs in...Best wishes!
