Nord Stage 3 Loss of Farfisa and Pipe Organ

Post by BBkeys »

Hi,
Has anyone lost the use of the Farfisa and Pipe Organ functions of the Organ section on the New stage 3? it was working fine before the last OS update and after the update none of the Farfisa or pipe organ sounds are generated from the Organ section when selected. B-3 selection sounds are fine. Also the program patches that use Farfisa or pipe organ will not generate sounds.

I did a total Factory Restore and it did not help.

Is there something I'm missing or can do? Any help would be greatly appreciated

B.B.

That's really strange.
With my Stage 3 88HA OS 1.32 the organs produce their sound as always.

Got no idea what to do rather than factory restore.
If you search the forum there might be resources for an older version like 1.26 or so. Perhaps you give it a try.

Works just fine here. Sounds somewhat strange that you get no sound at all.

How do you listen to them (headphones, output to mans 1+2, something else)? Any effects enabled?

I had this problem when I first bought my Stage 3 Compact a couple of weeks ago. Since installing OS v2.0.0 the sounds come up on boot. However, randomly over the course of using the keyboard, the Vox, Farfisa, and pipes just won't sound at all. Seems like it's possible that the expression pedal has been the problem all along. The sense I get is that on the B3 the lowest pedal setting makes it soft, but on other organs the lowest setting takes the gain down to 0. Kind of confusing, but for all I know that's the valid behavior of the originals the Stage is reproducing.

Yes.

A Hammond swell pedal doesn't go to zero.

Maybe it's time for a FAQ about these things (and also the loss of volume on the RH when the LH has any similar drawbars ... ). I get the feeling a lot of folks think the quirks of the actual hammond are bugs in the Nord when they're actually careful recreations of the original behaviour.
