Simple Hillsong type pad
Hi all. Just got my first Nord, a Stage 2, a few days ago, and needless to say, I've been a little tied up. . .
Anyway, I thought I'd make an attempt to contribute, although I could easily be reinventing the wheel. What I have here is a nsmp version of a pad that is actually a component/plugin you can get free for the Mac, found here: https://github.com/pereckerdal/HSPad He also has samples available, which is what I dumped into the sample editor.
It is designed to be a very simple, warm pad, good for a background/base, similar to what's found in most Hillsongs songs. And, since I've found the "Hold" button, it is really ideal to just hit your root and/or 5th and let it go. I add a little flange set as slow as possible, plus a some distortion, to give it some life.
I've also attached an mp3 found on the author's site.
Anyway, I hope it can be useful.
Matthew

Re: Simple Hillsong type pad
Sounds good Matthew.
(I've got a Stage EX - so it can't load nsmp files - I wonder if the PAD can be converted to nspg format?)

Shark: Thanks, it's my pleasure. Hopefully it will be useful to some folks around here.
Paul, I seem to remember seeing a thread about that, and I don't think that's possible, sorry. Maybe something could be programmed in the synth section, but I haven't gotten that far, which is why I'm "cheating." lol

Re: Simple Hillsong type pad
It sounds like the amplitude envelope is off. Maybe I didn't have a good baseline in the patch, but you should be able to adjust it to your needs.

I'm having the same problem. It's hard to drone without sustain.
