Korg Triton Extreme Spanish Guitar

Post by jfenton »

Hi,

I'm a new Nord Stage 2 EX user. I'm having problem finding a good spanish guitar sample. The best I've ever heard was on my 10 year old Korg Triton Extreme. Most of the Nord guitar samples seem a little shallow and not enough resonance or sustain. Anyone know of a good full sounding spanish guitar or maybe even a sampling from the one used on the Korg (bank location M005)? The sample actually uses the vacuum tube of the Korg to get a fuller tube amp type of sound with good resonance.

Since I'm a new user, I'm not quite sure if and how I can record my Korg audio to create my on sample to put on my NS2. If I do this, it will probably take some time to figure out how to get a good sample. Also since I need to sell my Korg (to pay for my NS2), it won't be around much longer.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I have the same problem. Nords 'Nylon Guitar' is a bit thin.

OK, I gave it a try. First time I've ever done this so hopefully it turned out OK.

Thanks for trying, but it isn't perfect. The note goes on forever when you hold a key down :-)

Yes it is by design, I wanted more control of decay myself during performance with the decay knob.

Does Nord Sound Manager recognize .aif file format?

No, but you load it in Audacity (good, free and multi-platform) and save it as 16bit WAV.

Thanks, I actually had Audacity on my PC but forgot. I was struggling with a 10 year old piece of software that obviously does not work well on Windows 10 and doesn't understand the file format.

Fixed Korg Spanish Guitar Sample I did previously (it was one octave too high)

Also added sample from the site provided by Mr_-G.

Found out that Audicity does not export wave files compatible with Nord Sound Editor so had to use a few other tools to get a compatible wave file.
