iPad App from Nord

Post by Krouch »

Hey there,

I´m searching for a iPad App with the functionality of the "Nord Sound Manager". So I want to change places from programs in the Nord (without a PC). Does somebody know such an App?

Regards,
Thomas

There is no such a App, sorry... it is in the dreams of many Nord users but not existing (yet) nor it seems to be in the plans of Nord.

I would love to see this too, and I've brought it up before. I do understand why Clavia might not be able to get it done. Unlike Korg, who compete toe-to-toe with brother behemoth Roland, and thus need to invest in new technologies to stay competitive, Clavia is a boutique company.

They have about 1/100th the amount of employees as Roland, and while I can't find sales figures for their products, I'm guessing their margins are pretty thin. To invest in the R&D and then implementation of the hardware/software needed to interface with iDevices is probably not going to change those margins...if anything, they might lose money.

Are people going to buy more Nords because now you can use your iPad with it? Is that the deciding factor between a Stage and a Kronos? I really doubt it. Plus, there is merit to the notion that too much screwing around with the endless settings and patches available is detrimental to the principal purpose - being a good musician. I'm old enough to not be thrilled at the sight of iPads clamped to every microphone stand on stage now, and watching musicians tap and swipe between every song.

SO - while I would love to use my iPad with my Electro - maybe I'm finally glad that I can't.

I'm looking for the same... any idea?

For my Korg Minilogue I use Patch Base, which is wonderful and support many many keyboards but not my Stage, for your info, Nord models supported are:

Nord Lead 2 • Nord Lead 2X
